Bakkerij in Biezelinge
Bakkerij in Biezelinge
De eerste bekend bakker is Jan de Dreu, geboren te Goes in 1794, die vanaf ongeveer 1820 hier woont. Als zijn vrouw Yda Zandee in 1824 overlijdt, hertrouwt hij met Maatje Leys. De Dreu overlijdt in 1849, waarna zijn weduwe de bakkerij voortzet met hulp van haar schoonzoon. Dit is Cornelis van de Boomgaard, geboren te Kruiningen in 1815. Hij trouwt met bakkersdochter Francina de Dreu, die in 1822 in het huis geboren is. Na het overlijden van zijn schoonmoeder zet Van den Boomgaard de bakkerij samen met zijn vrouw voort. Bakkersdochter Anna van de Boomgaard trouwt in 1871 met Cornelis Kloosterman, geboren te Kattendijke in 1841. Samen gaan ze verder in de bakkerij.

Battle of Saipan
The battle of Saipan was a battle of the Pacific campaign of World War II, fought on the island of Saipan in the Mariana Islands from 15 June 1944 to 9 July 1944. Harry Kloosterman was in the US Army and fought on Saipan vs the Japanese. He was shot and almost died but survived to marry and father three daughters.

Brethern of the Common Life
After the decline of the order of St-Victor in the XV Century, the monks joined the Brethern of the Common Life, founded in Holland. From this order of St.-Victor in 1246 Wolfaard van Maelstede founded the nunnery "Jerusalem" in Biezelinge in the south-west region of Holland (Zeeland) on four parcels of land.

Kamp Amersfoort (Polizeiliches Durchgangslager Amersfoort; PDA) was in de Tweede Wereldoorlog één van de concentratiekampen in Nederland. Cornelis Jan Kloosterman verbleef hier van 10-08-1944 tot 11-10-1944, waarna hij mogelijk via Hamburg naar Neuengamme werd getransporteerd, waar hij in 1945 overleed.

In February 1953 the Netherlands faced disaster when the dikes protecting the southwest of the country were breached by the joint onslaught of a hurricane-force northwesterly wind and exceptionally high spring tides. The flood came in the night without warning, a fateful combination of freak high tides and gale-force winds that killed 1,835 people. It was The Netherlands' worst disaster for 300 years.
